A training day in Parma on energy efficiency and sustainability in construction

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, a key training event was held for professionals in the construction industry and all those who wish to learn more about innovative, sustainable, and housing-oriented construction solutions.
The event, organized by the Order of Engineers of Parma in collaboration with Xella Italia, was held at the Ex Romanini Complex in Parma, a complex site where Policreo is carrying out an articulated urban regeneration and architectural enhancement project. The initiative offered participants a concrete opportunity to learn about the characteristics and advantages of autoclaved aerated concrete (CAA), an innovative material that meets CAM-Minimum Environmental Criteria requirements and the latest demands for environmental sustainability, safety and living comfort.

In this seminar, Eng. Giuseppe Ferrari (Xella Italia) and Arch. Raffaele Ghillani explored key topics, including:

• sustainability and CAM-Minimum Environmental Criteria requirements of the building envelope;
• fire resistance and fire compartmentalization for new and existing buildings;
• acoustic insulation of exterior facades and interior partitions;
• presentation of case studies realized with the Xella complete building system.

The event concluded with a technical visit to the construction site and a practical demonstration to observe the CAA installation phases up close and engage with technicians directly in the field.
