In perfect synchrony with the beginning of the ski season, the new Champoluc-Crest cable car opened to the public on 07/12/12 in the municipality of Ayas by Monterosa S.P.A , for which Policreo took care of the entire design and architectural project of the valley and mountain stations and the architectural-functional redevelopment of the existing buildings in the Crest area. The new cable car connects the village of Champoluc to the village of Crest and represents an important node of the Monterosa Ski area. It also links, as a local public transport facility, the high-altitude villages in the municipality of Ayas.

The cableway line has a capacity of 2,400 pers./h with a length of 1121.35 m and an altitude difference of 397.38 m.The project envisaged the construction of a multifunctional area in the valley station with ticket offices, administrative offices and the start of the lift. The entrance to the station is at street level by means of a new underground covered plaza, while access to the boarding level is by escalator and lift.The new arrival station, which serves as an interchange with the Crest – Alpe Ostafa III gondola, is part of a more complex building structure that includes the arrival and departure stations of the two gondolas, the new cabin depot and the new snow groomer depot.
