May 20, 2026, the new Romanini complex was inaugurated in Parma’s Oltretorrente neighbourhood, in the presence of Mayor Michele Guerra, Bishop Enrico Solmi, Councillor for Social Policies Ettore Brianti, and representatives of ASP Parma – the Parma District Public Agency for Personal Services.
The project, for which Policreo was responsible for the technical and economic feasibility study for the integrated contract, as well as for the detailed architectural, functional, structural, and mechanical and electrical design – including an environmental pre-feasibility study – involved the renovation of a portion of the Romanini complex to create new senior living housing units, with a view to their conversion into a CRA senior care residence. Construction works were carried out by Bucci S.p.A. Società Benefit and Renato Monica S.r.l.
Funded under the PNRR – Mission 5 “Inclusion and Cohesion”, Component 2, Sub-investment 1.1.2 “Autonomy of Non-Self-Sufficient Older People” – the project aligns with national guidelines aimed at preventing institutionalisation and promoting housing solutions capable of supporting autonomy, safety, and quality of life.
The initiative saw the unveiling of 14 new apartments, designed to accommodate over 20 older residents. The units feature a modern, functional design and are equipped with advanced home automation systems and innovative tools for remote monitoring and assistance. The aim is to provide a well-equipped living environment integrated with home-based social and healthcare services, enabling residents to achieve and maintain the greatest possible autonomy and independence, while offering a concrete alternative to traditional residential facilities.
