The Ex Scuderie di Maria Luigia restoration marks a significant step in enhancing the region and preserving its historical memory. This initiative, for which Policreo developed the definitive project, focuses on structural consolidation, faithful restoration, and the adaptive reuse of the building, fully respecting its historical and artistic value.
The Ex Scuderie will be transformed into an urban space for citizens and tourists, hosting cultural activities and promoting local PDO products, combining sustainability, innovation, and a deep sensitivity to the surrounding context.
This intervention is part of a broader urban regeneration programme initiated by the Municipal Administration and funded by the Bando Periferie (“Extraordinary Programme for Urban Regeneration and Security in Metropolitan Cities and Provincial Capitals”). The project aims to create a unified open space connecting Piazza Casali and Piazza Cittadella, linking the Carmine complex with Palazzo Farnese (home to the Civic Museums), generating new opportunities for community engagement, cultural activities, and collective well-being.
The integrated executive design and restoration contract has been awarded to a consortium of companies comprising Impresa Cogni Spa (lead contractor), Impredima Srl, and Magistri Srl. This project stands out for its careful attention to pre-existing architectural features, an essential approach to preserving the site’s identity while fostering a sustainable regeneration of the area.
